WELCOME TO THE PARTY! HOLLYWOOD SPY CELEBRATES ITS SECOND BIRTHDAY!

Ah, I see you are here. Did you bring me presents? Why? Well, it's HOLLYWOOD SPY's birthday! :) Last week, April 27th, HOLLYWOOD SPY celebrated its second birthday! Guess it's now time for me to stop pooping in my dippers :)  I've been writing and blogging about upcoming films for more than four years now,
but this very site HOLLYWOOD SPY was opened in April 2009. Back then it was just a way for me to talk about films with a few of my good friends on-line, but then it somehow became a crazy story in which I have more than a thousand readers every day, in which I'm close to hitting half million visitors in total, in which this very site has been visited by people from more than 204 countries around the world. I wanted to thank all of you charming little freaks for supporting and visiting your HOLLYWOOD SPY and for loving your Dezzy :) Even when he gets naughty and mischievous :)
And celebrating the second birthday, I thought I might remind you how this site looked like two years ago. Back then, I wrote news in the form of visual articles like the ones from newspapers, and you had to click on the images in order to read the stories, which you can do now as well bellow. So, lets go back into ancient past:
Two years ago you had the honor to read about things which are popular and current today:
JUNE 2009
JUNE 2009
I wrote about projects which are still waiting to get into production or premiere:
JULY 2009
AUGUST 2009
I also wrote about projects which probably won't ever happen:
APRIL 2009
JULY 2009
As always, I loved to write about my favourite shows:
JUNE 2009
MAY 2009
So, once again, my little freaks, thanks for sticking by your favourite HOLLYWOOD SPY, and don't forget - Hollywood Spy loves you and there's nothing you can do about it :)

HOLLYWOOD SPY'S EXCLUSIVE FASHION REPORT FROM THE BRITISH ROYAL WEDDING 2011! CHARMING TRAILER FOR "ONE DAY" WITH ANNE HATHAWAY & JIM STURGESS!

So, have you watched THE ROYAL WEDDING? How did you like it? Who was best dressed? What did you like/hate most? I think Kate Middleton looked lovely, but although I appreciated the
subtle elegance of her wedding gown, it didn't wow me and I wasn't amazed by the decision to do a Grace Kelly's wedding dress rip-off. She will be a future queen and queens should dictate not follow :) But she did look nice, tender, delicate and lovely, just not memorable as the royal wedding of the century deserves. Oooh, and I thought Victoria and David Beckham looked absolutely stunning. Princess Lalla Salma, the wife of Moroccan king was stunning as always proving her status of HOLLYWOOD SPY's favourite royal person. Serbia's crown prince Aleksandar was also present. Click on the images to see HOLLYWOOD SPY's visual fashion report from THE ROYAL WEDDING :) And please do
comment if you are inspired :) The next huge royal wedding we will be watching will be the wedding of Monaco's prince Albert later this summer. Will his future wife Charlene Wittstock be prettier than his late mother Grace Kelly? Albert was probably the best dressed man today at the London wedding.

Since we're sticking with love, today you can check out the first trailer for ONE DAY, a romantic film with interesting plot premiering  this August with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in the lead roles.
The story, based on the bestselling novel, follows an extraordinary relationship. Emma and Dexter meet on the night of their college graduation in summer 1988. She is a working class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground. For the next two decades, they meet every summer for one day, as their friendship ebbs and flows with the passing of the years. Through love and loss, heartbreak and success, hopes fulfilled and dreams shattered, they experience the grandeur of life. Somewhere along their journey, these two people realize that what they are searching and hoping for has been there for them all along. The film features beautiful music from One Republic and lots of horrible hairdos from Hathaway :).

Our Kind Of Royal Wedding!

We were secretly hoping that Kate would show up in a 50s style dress but were not surprised when she went for a traditional design. However, all is not lost! PH Weddings and Wedding Daze have put together this Cool Britannia styled Royal Wedding photoshoot at Cusworth Hall for us to pore over.

ARMIE HAMMER JOINS JOHNNY DEPP IN "THE LONE RANGER"! JAVIER BARDEM IN STEPHEN KING'S "THE DARK TOWER"! COOL UPDATES ON "GREEN LANTERN", "CAPTAIN AMERICA" AND "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES"

Ah, this casting is becoming like a Spanish soap opera: although there were rumors that Ryan Gosling will join Johnny Depp in the remake of THE LONE RANGER which will focus more on Depp's Native American Tonto than on the ranger himself, the new rumors say that the title role could now actually end up in the hands of the charismatic and more and more popular Armie Hammer whom we've watched in THE SOCIAL NETWORK and who will also star in Tarsem's THE BROTHER'S GRIMM: SNOW WHITE as the prince charming. If Armie gets the role he will star in the Gore Verbinski directed remake.

SUMMER HEADLINES Since I know there are many of you who like PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and can't wait for the
premiere of ON STRANGER TIDES on May 20th, check out the posters featuring two main young stars of the film - charming Brit Sam Claflin and Astrid Berges Frisbey as Syrena the mermaid. *If you are anxiously waiting to see some of the big super hero blockbusters this summer, and there's an abundance of them this year, it might boost your interest to hear that Ryan Reynolds said that his GREEN LANTERN will have the epic scale of STAR WARS (when you check out the latest banner bellow featuring all the magnificent aliens from the film, it certainly does have a STAR WARS vibe),
while Chris Evans said that his CAPTAIN AMERICA will be more in tone of INDIANA JONES. And unlike the first part which is set in WW2, other CAPTAIN AMERICA sequels will be set in modern days.

Ah, so it's official - Ron Howard has signed Javier Bardem for the role of Roland Deschain in the film adaptation of Stephen King's complex sf saga THE DARK TOWER. I'm kinda sad, I
thought Viggo Mortensen or Hugh Jackman would have been much better in the role. Javier will take the lead role of a gunslinger who travels through an Old West-like landscape mixed with futuristic elements in search of the mythical Dark Tower to save civilization. Bardem has signed on to star in the first of the three planned films in the franchise which will also have two seasons of TV show in between second and third installment of the movie. The film should come out in 2013.

OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR "IMMORTALS"! SCHWARZENEGGER IS BACK AS "TERMINATOR"! FOX PREPARING "ZORRO REBORN"! ANTJE TRAUE IS FAORA IN "MAN OF STEEL". PAUL WALKER IN "VEHICLE19"

Now, I know that most of you like the romantic and adventurous ZORRO saga which starred Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones. It seems that Fox is preparing a reboot of the famous story about famous masked crusader. But here's the interesting
and, I will say, cool catch -  ZORRO REBORN will be set in some non-specific time in an apocalyptic wasteland and it will not have all of the famous traditional characteristics of Zorro. And although he will again fight against evil, he will be driven by vengeance instead of justice. The film will be a directorial debut of Rpin Suwannath who worked previously on X-MEN, CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, MR. AND MRS. SMITH ...

SHORT HEADLINES *What is it with the trend of popular actors in mediocre action films in Hollywood lately? Paul Walker will take the lead in VEHICLE 19,  as an American conman who finds himself in South Africa, where he must transport a
hostage who is set to testify against the corrupt South African police force. *It's official, Arnold Schwarzenegger will return as TERMINATOR in the new sequel to be directed by Justin Lin. The film will go into production as soon as possible before the rights go back to James Cameron in 2018.  *New stars who will lend their voices in ICE AGE4: CONTINENTAL DRIFT include Jennifer Lopez (as a sabre toothed tigress who melts the heart of Diego), Jeremy Renner (as Gutt, a self-styled master of the high seas), Wanda Sykes and Drake.*Unknown German actress Antje Traue has been cast to play female villain Faora in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot MAN OF STEEL. She joins Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's parents.

Yesterday I showed you the sneak peek into the brand new trailer for Tarsem Singh's epic IMMORTALS, and now here's the whole official trailer in all its beauty. As Tarsem promised the whole film looks like a huge painting and watching it you can recognise his marvelous visual style which we were able to see earlier in his ground breaking films THE CELL and THE FALL, and also in the LOSING MY RELIGION video he did for REM. I'm amazed and stunned by the video, as I knew I would be ... It seems that with each scene IMMORTALS reminds us of one important, almost forgotten thing in Hollywood, that films are made of ... dreams. This movie will be larger than life. Starring Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans and Michael Rourke it comes out this November.

After HBO has ordered the second season of GAME OF THRONES, and Starz of CAMELOT, Showtime has ordered another season of their new historical show THE BORGIAS.
Earning critical and viewers' acclaim the show has had the best ratings for a new Showtime drama series in seven years. The show is even more popular than the cult series THE TUDORS. Ten new episodes will be shot this summer. Starring Jeremy Irons as Rodrigo Borgia, the cunning, manipulative patriarch of the Borgia family who builds an empire by bribing, buying and muscling his way into the papacy the story also follows his two sons and a daughter who commit virtually every sin in the book and invent more than a few of their own. You can catch THE BORGIAS Sundays at 10PM.

SHORT HEADLINES *Now, this is an unusual cast for a TV show: Olivia Munn and Marisa Tomei are in talks to join Jeff
Daniels
in HBO's pilot MORE AS THIS STORY DEVELOPS, which will follow an executive producer (Tomei) of a cable news show, her anchor (Daniels) and the financial analyst on the network (Munn). *Marvel has officially started the production on their super hero extravaganza THE AVENGERS which will have Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. The film hits cinemas May 2012.

OMG, OMG, OMG!!! It's here, it's here, it's here!!! :) "MovieWeb" has just released a short sneak peek of IMMORTALS trailer, HOLLYWOOD SPY's most anticipated film of the decade. And it
looks huge, epic, breathtaking, visually mesmerizing, it's everything we expected from director Tarsem Singh! Oh, are we finally going to get us a stunning historical epic, with action, with great story, with amazing sets with old style glamour and modern visual vibe? I can't wait to see the whole trailer for the film which hits cinemas this November with Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Stephen Dorff,John Hurt, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Kellan Lutz,  Corey Sevier. Set in ancient Greece, the film follows brave Theseus and his struggle against the evil king Hyperion with the help of all Gods, his cunning slave and a visionary priestess.

CATE BLANCHETT IS HOLLYWOOD SPY'S BEST AUSTRALIAN STAR AHEAD OF ERIC BANA AND SIMON BAKER !

The first part of YOUR FAVOURITE AUSTRALIAN STAR poll is over with Cate Blanchett winning with 40 % of your votes. She left Eric Bana (19%) and Simon Baker (18%) behind her.

Beside being the best living actress Cate Blanchett  truly is the real ambassador of her Australia. Not only that she speaks highly of her country but she also isn't afraid to leave Hollywood after becoming world superstar in order to manage one of the most successful theaters Down Under.
There isn't a single role of hers which wasn't legendary, flawless, breathtaking, stunning, ground breaking, mind blowing, magnificent, profound, intelligent ... not a single one. She is just like Meryl Streep - a category of her own, with whom no one else can compete. Even her weakest performance is better deserving of an Oscar than any other performance of any other actress.  She also possesses an otherworldly, refined and mesmerizing beauty which radiates from deep within. Her best role would be the one from ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE, in which she gave a masterclass in acting, shining in every possible scene in the outstanding epic. She didn't play, but she WAS an elven queen in
THE LORD OF THE RINGS. And don't forget her hypnotizing voice while she narrated the story in that epic. She out staged Brad Pitt in THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON(and wasn't even nominated for an Oscar).   She did what no other actress did - played a man, and played him for real not as a parody in I'M NOT THERE. She was the most perfect Katharine Hepburn in THE AVIATOR. She was so stunningly flawless in CHARLOTTE GRAY, VERONICA GUERIN, THE GIFT. She was the hottest feme fatale in BANDITS. She stole the show in THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY. She had the most perfect accent in THE GOOD GERMAN. She stole the show again from Brad Pitt in BABEL. She was an action hero in THE MISSING and INDIANA JONES.  And you fell in love with her in NOTES ON A SCANDAL in which
she had the most amazing chemistry with her royal majesty Judi Dench (bow immediately). She also stole the show in ROBIN HOOD.We will be watching her in THE HOBBIT again as mesmerizing Galadriel. And beside all these legendary roles in which she always has a new face, she managed to give birth to three lovely kids, to maintain an ideal marriage, to stay away from tabloids, to become a fashion icon, to become a theatre star, to stay irresistibly beautiful,
She has five Oscar nominations, she won one for THE AVIATOR, she is one of the rare thespians who were nominated for both the lead and the supporting role in the same year, she won two BAFTA's, and three
awards from the Australian Film Institute, she was nominated seven times and won two Golden Globes. And she was nominated nine times for Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Now, let us move to the second round of YOUR FAVOURITE AUSTRALIAN STAR poll.  Australian as in continent not just the country since we also have some Kiwis in the run. Here are the new candidates for whom you can vote next two weeks as much as you like: ice queen Nicole Kidman, kind hunk Hugh Jackman, mesmerizing Kiwi Karl Urban, naughty stud Ryan Kwanten, legendary Geoffrey Rush, stunning Holly Valance, dashing Julian McMahon and adorable Isla Fisher. Vote on my darlings.

TRAILER FOR WW2 EPIC "AGE OF HEROES" WITH SEAN BEAN. PAUL VERHOEVEN TO SHOOT "JESUS OF NAZARETH"! ROB KAZINSKI LEAVES "THE HOBBIT". VERA FARMIGA JOINS RYAN REYNOLDS IN "SAFE HOUSE"

SHORT HEADLINES *British actor Robert Kazinski, who was cast to play one of the dwarves in Peter Jackson's THE HOBBIT alongside Aidan Turner and Richard Armitage
has left the shooting due to personal reasons. *According to "Playlist" Paul Verhoeven is planning to adapt his own book JESUS OF NAZARETH into a film. Depicting a more historical picture of Jesus, the controversial book shows him as a child born from the rape of Mary by a Roman soldier, as a spiritualist who performed exorcisms by screaming and spitting in the mouths of the possessed to drive out demons, and as a militant revolutionary who urged his followers to arm themselves. *Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga has joined Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington in SAFE HOUSE,  in which Reynolds has to escort a dangerous criminal Denzel from a safe house when it gets attacked by some even more dangerous criminals.

Ah, here's a film we kinda haven't noticed so far :), but I saw it over at "Beyond Hollywood" and its release is next month in UK. Titled AGE OF HEROES it is inspired by James Bond writer Sir Ian Fleming 's
incredible true story about the creation of one of the most important elite units in the history of the British Armed Forces.
Sean Bean  and Danny Dyer star in this story about 30 Commando, a new breed of special operations taskforce created to carry out some of the most dangerous missions in the Second World War. The film follows the unique circumstances behind 30 Commando’s inception and the unit’s first highly classified smash-and-grab mission into occupied Norway, to capture vital radar technology that will change the course of the war. But when their escape route is uncovered, the commandos find themselves in a pitched battle to reach the border against vicious Nazi General Dietl and his deadly 5th Alpine Division. The film also stars our dear James D'Arcy.

HOLLYWOOD SPY'S SUMMER 2011 FILM GUIDE: SUPER HEROES, PIRATES, TRANSFORMERS, SMURFS, BARBARIANS AND APES!

The summer season in cinemas, which usually starts with May, is just around the corner, so let's take a quick look on the biggest movie treats which await us with the hot summer months. I must admit I find this cinematic summer rather boring and non creative. PS red letters are clickable links.
MAY - NORSE SUPER HEROES AGAINST PIRATES AND SF PRIESTS
May will bring us the long awaited super hero epic THOR from Kenneth Branagh in which Chris Hemsworth plays a powerful warrior from the mystical realm of Asgard, ruled by Anthony
Hopkins
, who comes down to Earth to stop the evil forces from invading Earth. Then there's also the visually breathtaking sf epic PRIEST in which Paul Bettany plays a futuristic priest who goes after the evil gang of vampires lead by Karl Urban which kidnapped his niece. If you're a fan of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, the 4th part ON STRANGER TIDES comes in May too with Johnny Depp, Sam Claflin, Penelope Cruz and lots of mermaids. The end of May also brings KUNG FU PANDA back in the sequel, but if you're in the mood for profound
dramas you might check out THE TREE OF LIFE with Brad Pitt and THERE BE DRAGONS with Dougray Scott and Wes Bentley.

JUNE - MUTANTS AGAINST GREEN LANTERN AND PENGUINS
June will definitely be the month of super heroes, first with X-MEN: FIRST CLASS with James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, a retro look upon the youth of our favourite
mutants which will explain how Magneto and Professor Xavier became enemies and will also show us January Jones as White Queen, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Nicholas Hoult as Beast, followed by mesmerizing GREEN LANTERN with Ryan Reynolds about a brotherhood of intergalactic warriors sworn to keep peace and justice wearing green rings which give them super powers. June will also bring us J.J.Abram's sf epic SUPER 8 done in a retro style about a mysterious alien force which threatens to destroy little town in Ohio and MR. POPPER'S
PENGUINS
in which Jim Carrey has a growing family of the flightless birds which he tries to train to perform in a traveling show.

JULY - CAPTAIN AMERICA VS COWBOYS, ALIENS, HARRY PLOPPER AND TRANSFORMERS
July will be the month of the biggest blockbusters with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER in which Chris Evans plays a super human  created for US army in WW2, COWBOYS
AND ALIENS in which Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford will have to lead both cowboys and Native Americans against aliens who plan to tame the Old West and enslave everyone. July will also bring two big sequels: TRANS FORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON in which Shia Labeouf and Josh Duhamel will use the help of powerful Autobots led by Optimus Prime against the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat from the first film. And there's also the epic finale of HARRY PLOPPER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS with the all-out war between forces of good and evil. July also brings two adorable
films FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, and ONE DAY with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, and also the China set epic drama SNOW FLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN with Hugh Jackman.
AUGUST - CONAN, THE LOST SMURFS, NAZI CRIMINALS AND SOME APES
Known usually as the dumpster place for less potential summer flicks, August will bring us some Barbaric action and scantily clad ladies and muscular hunks in the new CONAN THE BARBARIAN with Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols and Rose McGowan who will have to face the blue super power of THE SMURFS who are coming to the big screens lost in the middle of Central Park.
August will also bring some remakes and reboots: RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES with James Franco and FRIGHT NIGHT with Colin Farrell and Toni Collette in which a high school kid has to face a naughty and dashing vampire. We shall also watch THE DEBT with Sam Worthington and Helen Mirren, an action movie about agents who are trying to catch notorious Nazi war criminals.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS TO JOIN JAMES FRANCO & MILA KUNIS IN "OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL"! EPIC TRAILER FOR "THERE BE DRAGONS" WITH WES BENTLEY, DOUGRAY SCOTT & RODRIGO SANTORO!

As you already know, Sam Raimi is preparing OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL in which James Franco will be Oz, and Mila Kunis will be the wicked witch of the West. As you also know, Blake Lively was mentioned as the possible good witch, but Raimi
is now in conflict with Disney over the actress who will play another wicked witch. The director wants plain, boring and always weak Hilary Swank, while the studio wants profoundly talented, beautiful and always powerful Michele Williams (both nominated for Oscar two times). At the same time John C. Reilly is in talks to become Oz's sidekick but it's not sure whether he will take the job since he is also negotiating around the role of Haymitch Abernathy in THE HUNGER GAMES. The film should hit cinemas in 2013.

Last year, I wrote about ensemble epic drama THERE BE DRAGONS, and I shall now remind you of its trailer, since the film premieres May 6th in USA. This epic adventure romance set during the turmoil of the Spanish Civil War follows the lives of two young men, Josemaria Escriva (Charlie Cox) and Manolo Torres (Wes
Bentley
), childhood friends who are separated by the political upheaval of pre-war Spain to find themselves on opposite sides as war erupts. Choosing peace, Josemaria becomes a priest and struggles to spread reconciliation by founding the movement Opus Dei. Manolo chooses war and becomes a spy for the fascists. He becomes obsessed with a beautiful Hungarian revolutionary, Ildiko (Olga Kurylenko), who has joined the militia in pursuit of passion and purpose. But when Ildiko rejects him out of love for the courageous militia leader Oriol (Rodrigo Santoro), Manolo's jealousy leads him down a path of betrayal. As personal and national battles rage, the characters' lives collide and their deepest struggles are illuminated through the fateful choices they make. Each will struggle to find the power of forgiveness over the forces tearing their lives and friendship apart.
The amazing cast also included Dougray Scott and Geraldine Chaplin.

RALPH FIENNES JOINS HELENA BONHAM CARTER IN "GREAT EXPECTATIONS"? IAN HOLM RETURNS TO "THE HOBBIT"! REFINED TRAILER FOR "ANOTHER EARTH" ZACK BRAFF IN "THE DEVIL & THE DEEP BLUE SEA"

A few days ago HOLLYWOOD SPY has informed you that the new adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic GREAT EXPECTATIONS is in works with young Jeremy Irvine in the lead role of an orphan who has a rich protector Miss Havisham (to be played by Helena Bonham Carter) helping him all his life, and now there are rumors that Ralph Fiennes could take the role of the naughty criminal Magwitch. We still have to see who will director Mike Newell choose to play Estella, adopted daughter of Miss Havisham who falls in love with the orphan boy. As you remember the last version was with Eathan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow and it wasn't successful.

SHORT HEADLINES Charming and often funny Zach Braff from ABC hit sitcom SCRUBS is planning to return to the big screens. Later this fall, he should start filming an interesting movie THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA. The story will follow an introverted architect who, unable to reconcile the grief from recently losing his wife, befriends a wisecracking young girl and agrees to help her build a raft to cross the Atlantic. The charming and heartwarming story will see Zach starring beside Jessica Biel and young Chloe Moretz. *Peter Jackson has revealed that Ian Holm will also return to THE HOBBIT beside Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom, as the older version of Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins.

One of the films that everyone is talking about after Sundance festival, is ANOTHER EARTH, a mesmerizing and profound mix of drama and sf about  a bright young woman (Brit Marling),  accepted into MIT's astrophysics program, who aspires to explore the cosmos. On the eve when a strange planet, the Earth's duplicate, appears in the sky, a tragedy strikes when she accidentally hits another car in the street, killing the son of  a brilliant composer (William Mapother). When she comes out of jail, the lives of the two of them will become irrevocably intertwined after she visits him in an effort to apologize. Check out the trailer for the film, which has received great criticism and will be released in cinemas this July.

INSPIRING TRAILER FOR "THE HELP" WITH EMMA STONE & VIOLA DAVIS. KATE BECKINSALE JOINS COLIN FARRELL IN "TOTAL RECALL"!

SHORT HEADLINES *We wondered some time ago why Len Wiseman, who is doing the remake of sf classic TOTAL RECALL with Colin Farrell, hasn't offered the lead female
role to his wife Kate Beckinsale, but now he did just that. She will get the role of Lori, played before by Sharon Stone, while the second female role could go to Eva Mendes, Jessica Biel or Rosario Dawson. *Patricia Arquette will direct HEMLOCK DRIVE, a drama about a dying mother who enlists her three grown children to throw her a living funeral in a desperate attempt to unite her family. The cast will include Susan Sarandon, David Arquette and Adam Brody.

Check out the first, inspiring trailer for THE HELP, based on one of the most talked about books in years, a New York Times bestseller, with Emma Stone as Skeeter, Viola Davis as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny, three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who
build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project (interviewing the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families) that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed, even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times. Deeply moving, filled with poignancy, humor and hope, THE HELP is a timeless and universal story about the ability to create change. Premiering this August, the film also stars Bruce Dallas Howard, Sissy Spacek, Mike Vogel and Chris Lowell.

CATHERINE ZETA JONES AS VILLAIN IN "ROCK OF AGES" MUSICAL! VIN DIESEL IS "TERMINATOR"? CHARMING TRAILER FOR "BRIDESMAIDS"!

God news, people, our Catie is back! Although I wasn't at all interested in the upcoming remake of the ROCK OF AGES musical
film, now I'm definitely watching it: according to "Deadline" Catherine Zeta Jones will join the cast of the film, about a small town girl who wants to make it big in Los Angeles, which already includes Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Russel Brand and Paul Giamatti. Catherine will play the main negative character in the film, a hardcore, moral conservative who wants to shut down rock’n roll in the city of Los Angeles. Since the film will have loads of 80's music, Catherine will sing "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" from Pat Benatar and "We're Not Gonna Take It" from Twisted Sisters.

SHORT HEADLINES Now this is quite a surprise: according to fresh rumors, Vin Diesel could take the famous TERMINATOR role in Universal's new sequel. Apparently
the FAST FIVE director Justin Lin could helm the new movie in the sf saga and Vin could be his lead man. *THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA sequels have been officially confirmed even before the premiere of the two potential summer blockbusters. *Emily Blunt's charming husband John Krasinski has joined NOBODY WALKS, a film which will follow a week in the life of a Los Angeles family who invite a young, charismatic artist into their home, only to find her disrupting their lives.

Today, I'm bringing you a trailer for the upcoming film BRIDES MAIDS starring Jon Hamm,  Rose Byrne, Kristen Wigg (who's in the lead role although she seems to be the weakest link in
the cast, and I'm not sure where they found her) and Dianne Wiest. The film which premieres next month follows a simple and poor girl whose life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as her maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, she bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals trying to find her way among the colourful group of rich and snobbish bridesmaids. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show her best friend and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.

CHARMING TRAILER FOR "MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS". J.J. ABRAM'S SECRET PROJECT "ZANBATO". ELIZABETH BANKS JOINS "HUNGER GAMES". REBECCA ROMIJN & THANDIE NEWTON IN "GOOD DEEDS"

Since I know most of my readers like HUNGER GAMES saga, here are new casting updates on the film adaptation. After Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson have taken the three lead roles in the story that will follow a cruel futuristic world in which teens have to fight in arenas, the project has new additions to the cast: style icon Elizabeth Banks will play Effie, the pink-haired chaperon to Katniss and Peeta, while young Leven Rambin and Jack Quaid (the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan) will play Distric 1 tributes Marvel and Glimmer.

SHORT HEADLINES *Ah, finally some nice face in Baz Luhrmann's THE GREAT GATSBY adaptation. According to rumors he has offered Isla Fisher the role of Myrtle, a married woman having an affair with Tom Buchanan who will probably be
played by Ben Affleck. Leonardo DiCaprio will be Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire is Nick Carraway, and Carey Mulligan is Daisy. *Breathtaking Rebecca Romijn has joined GOOD DEEDS, as a businesswoman who left her career to be a mother. Beside her, the film will see Tyler Perry as a man who falls for a struggling single mother (Thandie Newton) just days before his wedding to a powerful woman (Gabrielle Union). *It appears that one of J.J. Abram's (STAR TREK) secret projects is ZANBATO, an epic with swashbuckling robots with swords, which will also be inspired by Japanese history.

And today, you can also check out the first trailer for Jim Carrey's upcoming new comedy MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS. Premiering this June and starring also Angela Lansbury and Carla Gugino, it follows a house painter Mr. Popper who pens a letter to a team of Arctic explorers, and gets surprised after receiving a penguin in the mail. Later, after making his mischievous new pal a cozy new home in the freezer, the hapless Mr. Popper comes into possession of a playful female penguin as well. Before long Mr. Popper finds himself surrounded by a growing family of the flightless birds, and begins training them to perform in a traveling show dubbed Popper's Performing Penguins.
