DREW BARRYMORE IS HOLLYWOOD SPY'S BEST ROMANTIC ACTRESS! NEW POLL: WHO SHOULD BE NEW LOIS LANE?

After two weeks of voting we have chosen THE BEST ROMANTIC ACTRESS and it's Drew Barrymore with 28% of your votes, followed by Sandra Bullock (20%), Katherine Heigl and Amy Adams (both 13%).
Drew Barrymore really is one of a kind in Hollywood: at the same time she is a goof everybody loves, a romantic cutie pie everyone cheers for, a witty girl that isn't ashamed to show  her tender and her humorous and vulnerable side.

Although her romantic movies don't bring as much money at the box office as Sandra Bullock's or Jennifer Aniston's, it's true that they are the ones we remember even ten years after we have seen them. She has so many memorable, unforgettable, heart warming romantic comedies: she will always be our Cinderella from the enchanting tale EVER AFTER, and we shall never forget the scene when she finally appears at the ball in the medieval castle wearing a sparkly gown with those magical butterfly wings. She will always be our girl who has NEVER BEEN KISSED, in the cutest romcom of all times in which we've all cheered for the love of the eternal social outsider and her dashing professor. We shall never forget her 50 FIRST DATES when Adam Sandler had to fight for her love since she only had a short term memory. Even us, who don't know a thing about baseball got into FEVER PITCH when she had to choose between the real love and the love for a sports team. We sang and laughed with her and Hugh Grant

in MUSIC AND LYRICS. She was adorable trying to (mis)read and predict the behaviour of people in love in HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU.  And we saw her proving how love can cross any distance in GOING THE DISTANCE. In 2012 she will try to save whales who have become trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle while finding some love too alongside John Krasinski and Dermot Mulroney in EVERYBODY LOVES WHALES.
Unfortunately, it seems our darling Drew doesn't have the same luck when it comes to romances in her private life. She is known for being married twice in marriages which lasted less than a year in both cases. She is currently in love with Justin Long in an on and off relationship.

Now since we've heard this weekend that Henry Cavill is the new SUPERMAN, what do you think WHO SHOULD BE NEW LOIS LANE? Here are the candidates you can vote for next two weeks as much as you want: Emily Blunt (THE YOUNG VICTORIA, WOLFMAN), Hayden Panettiere (HEROES), Alexis Bledel (GILMORE GIRLS), Rachel Bilson (O.C.), Milla Kunis (BLACK SWAN), Imogen Poots (CENTURION), Rose Byrne (TROY), Camilla Belle (10,000 BC), Teresa Palmer (MAD MAX, I AM NUMBER FOUR) or Malin Ackerman (WATCHMEN whose name has already appeared in gossips around the net).

SUPER WICKED IMAGE OF CHRIS EVANS AS "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER"! IS JAVIER BARDEM THE NEW JAMES BOND VILLAIN? KATHERINE HEIGL IN "NEW YEAR'S EVE"

Check out the great new EMPIRE cover featuring dashing Chris Evans as the superhero in CAPTAIN AMERICA THE FIRST AVENGER in which, horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Steve Rogers gets inspired to enlist in the army.

However, because of his frailty and sickness, Rogers gets rejected, but is later offered the opportunity to take part in a special experiment called operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers is administered the Super Soldier Serum and bombarded by “vita-rays”, awakening from the treatment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America embarks on a war against evil. Starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Richard Armitage, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Natalie Dormer ... the film comes out July 2011.

I'd call this a good news - Katherine Heigl has just replaced Halle Berry in the star studded romantic film NEW YEAR'S EVE  in which she will play the role of a New York caterer who runs into an ex-lover played by Jon Bon Jovi. Although she said she won't take any new jobs since she has a little baby, it seems this short gig won't be too difficult for the gorgeous blond.

I'm not sure if there is some hypnosis technique that certain actors use to make studios give them tones of roles, but we've seen that some people have been getting all the possible jobs in Hollywood recently (Anne Hathaway, James Franco) and Javier Bardem is certainly one of them. Not sure why the producers love

him so much, but beside the possible lead role in Stephen King's DARK TOWER, director Sam Mendes has just offered Bardem a role in the new JAMES BOND. He will probably play a villain although nothing is still sure, but I'm almost convinced he won't be a Bond girl. As you know, just like Heigl, Bardem also has fresh new offspring (with Penelope Kruz).

IT'S OFFICIAL - HENRY CAVILL IS THE NEW SUPERMAN! JORDANA BREWSTER JOINS THE NEW "DALLAS"! NICOLAS CAGE SEARCHING FOR "TREASURE OF POMPEII"

Ah, something that your dear Dezz and one of his angels, Flixy, have been fighting for years now has finally happened: Henry Cavill is officially the new Superman!!!! Warner Bros. has announced that the super talented young actor from THE TUDORS will take the lead role in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of SUPERMAN. Zack Snyder (300, WATCHMEN, LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS) is super excited with the choice of Cavill as someone who will wear the red and blue costume of the famous Man of Steel.

Charming Cavill is having other great films coming out soon: spectacular ancient Greek epicIMMORTALS in which he will play the famous hero Theseus and exciting thriller THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY alongside Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver. He is, as you know, the winner of WHO SHOULD BE THE NEXT JAMES BOND poll here at HOLLYWOOD SPY :)

The famous soap opera DALLAS is coming back to TV screens, since TNT is making the new series based on the younger generation of the greedy Ewing family. Some of the old characters are coming back, so we shall again see Patrick Duffy as Bobby, Linda Gray as Sue Ellen, and Larry Hagman as the naughty J.R. The show will follow the offspring of bitter rivals - J.R.’s son, John Ross, and Bobby and Pamela's adopted son, Christopher, who clash over the future of the Ewing

dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance. Young Jordana Brewster is the first name in the new cast and she will play Elena, the gorgeous daughter of the ranch’s cook who is in a love triangle with Christopher and John.

Italian director Michele Soavi is starting the production on his adventurous epic TREASURE OF POMPEII this spring and he wants Nicolas Cage in the lead role. Planned as an adventure for kids similar to the cult film GOONIES, the story in POMPEII will follow  adventures of some boys  in Pompeii, the dead Roman city near the Vesuvius volcano, while searching for a hidden treasure.

WONDERFUL TRAILER FOR EWAN MCGREGORS HEART WARMING "BEGGINERS". NEW ROLES FOR LEE PACE. IS ROBIN WILLIAMS HUGO STRANGE IN "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES"?

A few days ago I asked myself what is that dashing lad Lee Pace doing now after we fell in love with him in the early deceased TV show PUSHING DAISIES, A SINGLE MAN and Tarsem's THE FALL, one of the visually most striking films in history.

Well, beside starring in TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN , Lee Pace will also play in 30 BEATS (in which a first encounter sparks a series of intimate and comedic moments linking ten New Yorkers in a chain reaction of love and desire. The film will be full of sinfully gorgeous young people- click if you don't believe me) and THE RESIDENT (a spooky thriller with Hilary Swank and Christopher Lee about  a young doctor who suspects she may not be alone in her new Brooklyn loft and learns that her landlord has formed a frightening obsession with her).

SHORT HEADLINES As your HOLLYWOOD SPY wrote almost a year ago, some new rumors say that Robin Williams could join THE DARK NIGHT RISES as the new villain. Apparently he might battle Batman as Hugo Strange, together with Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as CatWoman.

Check out the lovely trailer for BEGGINERS, a film which imaginatively explores the hilarity, confusion, and surprises of love through the evolving consciousness of Oliver (Ewan McGregor). Oliver meets the irreverent and unpredictable Anna (Mélanie Laurent) only months after his father Hal (Christopher Plummer) has passed away. This new love floods Oliver with memories of his father who, following 44 years of marriage, came out of the closet at age 75 to live a full, energized, and wonderfully tumultuous gay life. The upheavals of Hal's new honesty, by turns funny and moving, brought father and son closer than they'd ever been able to be. Now Oliver endeavors to love Anna with all the bravery, humor, and hope that his father taught him.

And I would like to congratulate Novak Djokovic on winning Australian Open today, he made Serbia proud again! And it's Arlee Bird's birthday today, so head over to his place and tell him I've sent you with a cake :)

JOSH DUHAMEL JOINS "NEW YEAR'S EVE". ABC HAS CHOSEN THE NEW "CHARLIE'S ANGELS"! BENJAMIN WALKER IS "ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER". SAOIRSE RONAN JOINS "THE HOBBIT"

Already star studded cast of NEW YEAR'S EVE, which includes Robert De Niro, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, Jessica Biel, Michelle Pfeiffer, Taylor Swift, Halle Berry,

Sarah Jessica Parker, Frankie Muniz, Jon Bon Jovi, Til Schweiger, Sofía Vergara, Hilary Swank, Abigail Breslin... has just added three more names - Josh Duhamel, Ice Cube and Ryan Seacrest. The romantic film will follow the intertwining stories of several New York City residents as they navigate through the New Year's Eve holiday. According to "MovieWeb" Josh Duhamel will play one of the lead characters, a hopeless romantic who is looking for a date to a New Year's Eve party. He has an ulterior motive, though, as he is really trying to connect with a mystery woman at last year's party.

The angels in ABC's new CHARLIE'S ANGELS show have been cast: Rachael Taylor will play the youngest Angel, Abby, the daughter of a white-collar criminal and a skilled con artist. Annie Ilonzeh portrays Kate, an ex-cop and martial arts master. Minka Kelly will play Marisa, a former Marine and weapons expert, who is also a neat freak. Gorgeous girls, hope they can act, I can't take my eyes off the pictures above :)

SHORT HEADLINES Judi Dench will officially play the big boss M in the new JAMES BOND film. Young Saoirse Ronan (THE LOVELY BONES) has officially joined THE HOBBIT in the unknown role.

Now this is strange, among Eric Bana, Tom Hardy and many other big names in Hollywood, Timur Bekmambetov has chosen rather unknown and muscly (click to see yourself) Benjamin Walker (FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS, mostly known as the fiancé of actress Mamie Gummer, Meryl Streep’s oldest daughter) to play the American president in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER the adaptation of Seth Grahame Smith's novel which shows Lincoln fighting the forces of the undead during the Civil War.

HUGH JACKMAN, JUDE LAW, CHRIS PINE IN "RISE OF THE GUARDIANS" EPIC! NEW SF "AGE OF RAGE". VIGGO MORTENSEN IN "SNOWHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN"

Now this is one great voice cast: Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Jude Law and Isla Fisher will give their voices to DreamWorks' new animated 3D epic RISE OF THE

GUARDIANS. Based on the series of children books, which are yet to be published, the film follows a group of heroic childhood legends, each with extraordinary abilities. When Pitch (Jude Law), an evil spirit akin to the boogeyman, lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world. Hugh Jackman will be Bunnymund (the Easter Bunny), Alec Baldwin is North (Santa Claus) and Isla Fisher is Tooth (the Tooth Fairy). The super charming film with interesting plot should come out some time in 2012.

SHORT HEADLINES As HOLLYWOOD SPY predicted before, Michael Fassbender has officially signed to star in PROMETHEUS, the prequel to Ridley Scott's ALIEN. He will play an android. Viggo Mortensen has officially signed to play the huntsman in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN in which Charlize Theron should play the Evil Queen while young and beautiful Emily Browning (SUCKER PUNCH) has just auditioned last week for the role of Snow White.

According to "Heat Vision" Marc Webb, who is currently directing SPIDER-MAN reboot, will direct AGE OF RAGE, a sophisticated sci-fi movie set in a post-apocalyptic society where all the adults have died and a group of teens sets about trying to establish a new society. Mark Heyman (BLACK SWAN) is currently writing the script for the ambitious futuristic film.
