Amy Winehouse is preparing to move into a home formerly owned by Greek Cypriot leader Archbishop Makarios.
The Back to Black singer has signed the papers on a £1.5m mansion close to the heart of North London's trendy Camden Town - to the horror of well to do residents in the exclusive road.
The Archbishop Makarios the four storey detached Georgian home was lived, the exiled first president of an independent Cyprus, for just five months in 1974. His move sparked havoc as 10,000 Greek Cypriots and British left wing activists marched through London in a bid to get Makarios re installed as Cyprus' leader.
The neighbours was worried time around that 26 year old will Amy cause problems if she goes back to her wild drug using ways. One resident said: "This is a lovely area and we want it to stay that way. We certainly don't want latenight parties and drug users coming and going at all hours."
Last week Amy was spotted looking worse for wear as she left the Hawley Arms in Camden.
