Annah Stretton takes us on a country trip
If you could create a collection out of the much-loved crochet doilies and floral pillow slips from the upper loft bedroom of a cute country cottage, then it might look like this. Annah Stretton‘s RAFW (Australian fashion week) models were wrapped up in the sort of earthy hues and muted florals that take you, voluntarily or involuntarily, into that untarnished countryside of haystacks and wildflowers, log fires and the mingled scent of orange marmalade and potpourri. That’s something that I love; a collection that takes you away. But not only does Annah Stretton’s collection take you away in spirit, it’s also quite literally perfect for that country trip. Each piece of the Chameleon capsule is one-size-fits-all; reversible and capable of being worn in at least 10 different ways; easily washable and packable with a crushed finish. Quite intriguing, I’d love to get my hands on a piece to test out the versatility for myself.
Beyond the layered-up chameleon pieces, we saw a whole host of simple, pretty lingerie as outerwear pieces that rocked the innocent country girl look a little harder: from gingham checked crop tops to cute satin playsuits; full circle skirts to pastel wrap dresses. All topped off by the most curious of headwear: miniture animals wrapped in hair.,,,,,,,
